About the position

CHS Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, IT Engineering to lead the IT Global Infrastructure Team. This leadership role focuses on driving and delivering modern data and voice network technologies and services as part of the organization's modernization and transformation efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in managing technical teams, and a deep understanding of both traditional and cloud-based data network technologies. The Senior Engineering Manager will work closely with the Product Owner to create strategic roadmaps and execute them using Agile and Lean practices, while also fostering team development and health.

Responsibilities

  • Create strategies for the modernization and optimization of critical data and voice technologies for the enterprise.
  • Establish, advocate, and enforce standards and best practices for infrastructure deployment and management across the organization.
  • Promote and integrate Agile, Scrum, DevOps, Lean, ITIL, and other modern methodologies and frameworks to streamline delivery processes and enhance product quality.
  • Lead the engineering teams to ensure adherence to CHS policies including SOX, PCI, and data privacy considerations.
  • Instill a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the engineering team.
  • Engage with product teams and stakeholders to improve applications' performance, availability, and security.
  • Manage recruitment, hiring, and annual review processes for the engineering team.
  • Oversee the departmental budget, focusing on technology investments that enhance capabilities.
  • Mentor and develop team members, encouraging them to achieve ambitious objectives while maintaining team satisfaction.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies that offer significant benefits to the organization.
  • Collaborate with architectural teams to maintain and enhance architectural standards.
  • Deliver exceptional communication and customer service to stakeholders.
  • Coach team members in accountability and thriving in a high-performing product team setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent years of work experience).
  • 5+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in IT management roles overseeing data and voice infrastructure teams.
  • Proficient understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and operation of large-scale Enterprise LAN/WAN/Wireless Services, Enterprise Voice Services, and Call Center/Contact Center Services.
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and operation of cloud-based network services including Azure and Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with automation/orchestration platforms such as PowerShell, Ansible, Chef, or Terraform.
