Responsibilities
- Leads development teams.
- Responsible for managing onshore/offshore development resources to meet project deadlines, resolving technical blocks and ensuring the highest level of quality.
- Experience in project estimation, demand management and forecasting of technical resources.
- Working with other Senior Software Engineers, Database Developers, and Architects to design solutions, perform technology assessments and enforce standards, processes and source control management.
- Responsible for coordinating deployment plans, environment setup and coordinating with other technology groups.
- Can actively identify, manage, quantify and escalate risks to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to balance the need to refactor the site to make it more scalable and easy to maintain with the business goals and deadlines.
- Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
- Ensure that team members have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders for understanding the system's functional and non-functional requirements.
- Evolve the existing software system applications and architecture in various areas as needed.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities with the deployment of software corrections, enhancements and continuous improvements.
- Help developers resolve both technical problems as well as human resources issues.
- Monitor individual employees' performance, including career goals, time off, HR matters and workload/throughput.
- Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Design Patterns, Service Oriented Architecture, and n-Tier Client/Server Architecture.
- Experience working on .Net Core, Azure, React, MS SQL, Postgres, Kafka & microservices.
- Is well versed in modern software development methodologies, processes, tools, and technology standards.
- Experience with distributed, enterprise-class applications.
- Scalable, high-availability designs.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 plus years of experience in a Technical managerial role.
- 5 plus years of experience leading a team of on/offshore developers.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced Degree is a plus.
- Experience in financial services or investments domain is preferred.
