About the position

As a Senior Manager in Logistics at Raytheon, you will lead a team responsible for managing logistics operations in support of the Massachusetts Engineering Sites and Portsmouth factory. This role focuses on ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in material handling processes, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with various cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals and maintain high performance standards in logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the logistics team responsible for dock-to-stock material flow.
  • Conduct workforce planning and forecasting.
  • Oversee employee hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the enterprise to formulate logistics plans and requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and velocity of material positions by interacting with front line leaders.
  • Enforce company policies and ensure compliance with regulations and internal audit protocols.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the flow of material to meet contractual quality and cost requirements.
  • Evaluate metrics that drive material flow processes.
  • Optimize area layout and material flow.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Identify and control overhead expenses.
  • Achieve and exceed cost, quality, delivery, and safety goals.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 7 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or equivalent IT/system in SAP/Oracle.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with logistics execution in an Enterprise Resource Planning system such as SAP/Oracle.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Solid team management or leadership experience including goal setting and conflict management.
  • ASCM CLTD/CSCP or equivalent required (must achieve within first 12 months).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business skills.
  • Logistics experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word).
