About the position

The Senior Manager of Planning & Strategy, Digital Engagement at Sam's Club is a pivotal role within our organization, focusing on enhancing member adoption of digital shopping tools. This individual contributor position does not have any direct reports but carries significant responsibilities in creating strategic plans and partnerships that foster meaningful interactions with our members. The primary goal is to promote the use of our mobile app, thereby increasing customer satisfaction and contributing to omnichannel sales growth. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of digital marketing, technology stacks, and best practices in mobile applications and e-commerce. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and implementing comprehensive digital marketing strategies aimed at increasing app downloads, user engagement, and transactions. You will manage marketing campaigns across various digital channels, including social media, email, and in-app notifications, to drive app usage. Collaboration with the content team will be essential to produce compelling content that encourages members to utilize the app for ordering merchandise. Additionally, you will analyze the customer journey to identify opportunities for enhancing the user experience from discovery to purchase. Data analysis will play a crucial role in this position, as you will utilize analytics tools to measure the performance of marketing campaigns and provide regular reports to senior leadership on key metrics and campaign effectiveness. Conducting A/B tests will help determine the most effective strategies for growing app engagement and transactions. You will also work closely with internal teams and external partners to create promotional offers, loyalty programs, and other incentives that encourage app usage. Gathering and analyzing member feedback will be vital to improving the app experience and addressing any pain points. Furthermore, you will manage the digital marketing budget, ensuring a high return on investment for all campaigns while staying updated on the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, mobile apps, and e-commerce.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years' experience in Marketing or other relevant fields.
  • 4+ years' experience in digital strategy development, developing content, and events strategy.
  • Expert at translating internal narratives into public-facing content.
  • Executive-level presence, especially related to building compelling and easy to interpret presentations that inform decision-making.
  • Excel in a large matrix environment with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Experience working in a startup environment and doing more with less.
  • Experience in eCommerce or ad tech.
  • Experience working with legal, privacy and corporate communications teams.
