About the position

The Senior Manager, Marketing Planning & Retention Strategy at Sam's Club is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for member retention communications through various marketing channels. This role requires a strategic and customer-centric thinker who will collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to drive innovation and engagement. The position focuses on utilizing data and personalization to enhance member experiences and optimize marketing performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and execute omni-channel marketing strategies for lifecycle, conversion/transaction, and similar campaigns to drive member growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Oversee and perform customer segmentation analytics and formulate a segmentation strategy to optimize campaign performance.
  • Utilize innovation and data-driven personalization across channels to increase performance and retain members.
  • Manage creative and data deliverables to ensure alignment with business strategy and goals.
  • Define and own goals, KPIs, budget, and revenue forecasts for marketing initiatives.
  • Develop testing strategies in partnership with analytics to optimize program performance.
  • Present hindsight campaign reporting with key learnings to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product and Tech teams to communicate data requirements for marketing needs.
  • Manage day-to-day campaign operations, including project briefs and vendor estimates.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of retention marketing experience in a B2C environment, including CRM and marketing channels.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in customer segmentation and promotions.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to identify trends and optimize performance.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
