About the position

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Global Transformation team as a Senior Manager, Marketing Procurement based in Shelton, CT. The Senior Manager, Marketing Procurement is responsible for leading global Creative development, Media and digital sourcing activities for all of Subway. This role involves developing sourcing events and analyzing the supply market, contributing to new supplier selection processes, and developing and maintaining supplier relationships. The Senior Manager will identify corporate objectives and encourage internal functions to collaborate with each other and third-party service providers to create breakthrough, strategic operational capabilities that drive business outcomes, resulting in real marketplace differentiation and competitive advantage. Additionally, this position manages the vendor management function in the Marketing categories for Global or North American vendors, overseeing vendor relationships with all service providers to ensure they meet company expectations. In this role, you will coordinate material creation and timelines with printers, fulfillment centers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aware of deadlines and current activities. You will work with fulfillment centers to forecast quantities and develop POP kit SKUs, as well as develop an item management system to document existing assets, materials, costs, and quantities. Identifying and quantifying areas of opportunity related to material creation, shipping, and fulfillment costs will be essential. You will also identify program-level risks, issues, and mitigation plans, communicating and escalating relevant items to appropriate stakeholders. As a driving force for continuous process improvements, you will help identify opportunities to increase efficiency and eliminate non-value add activities. You will interface with key high-level executives, including the Chief Marketing Officer and (S)VPs of North America, International, and Latin America, to drive productivity. Setting compelling strategies for key categories and driving value for Subway with well-executed plans addressing price, process, and demand will be a critical part of your responsibilities. You will develop and implement procurement strategies and savings in line with company strategy and procurement best practices, leading Subway's strategy in negotiating and executing contracts for Global and North American Marketing spend in agencies. Building strong relationships with all business partners and suppliers will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate material creation and timeline with printers, fulfillment center and internal stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aware of deadlines, time constraints and current activity.
  • Work with fulfillment center to forecast quantities and develop POP kit SKUs.
  • Develop item management system to document existing assets, materials, costs, quantities.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify and quantify areas of opportunity related to material creation, shipping, and fulfillment costs.
  • Identify all program level risks, issues and mitigation plans, communicating and escalating all relevant items to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure that existing services meet their service targets.
  • Be a driving force, inspiration and coordinator for continuous process improvements; help identify opportunities to increase efficiency and eliminate non-value add activities.

  • Partner with the business to ensure that all appropriate marketing spend is optimized and that we are driving cost reductions with continuous improvement.
  • Manage all Global Creative, Media and Digital spend to levels that are commensurate with industry benchmarks for a company of our size.
  • Optimize vendor management for key marketing vendors to ensure that the company is maximizing the relationships with these strategic vendor relationships.
  • Build strong relationships with all business partners and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Technical Field or equivalent experience managing a spend category.
  • 6+ years experience in related field.
  • Vendor management skills.
  • Experience in Global Strategic Sourcing and marketing sourcing.
  • Management of vendor relationships and strong expertise in outsourcing.
  • Knowledge of the procure to pay process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of legal contracts; procurement or sourcing experience.
  • Indirect Procurement experience.
  • Proven track record of working with multiple executive level stakeholders to deliver results.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including total cost analysis.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Strong negotiation and sourcing skills.
  • Ability to interface with Subway Leadership Team (ELT) members.
  • Strong consulting skills, specifically in managing change, project management and presenting.
  • Familiarity with outsourcing, vendor management and service level agreements.
