About the position

The Senior Manager, Marketing Procurement at Subway is a pivotal role within the Global Transformation team, responsible for leading global creative development, media, and digital sourcing activities. This position focuses on developing sourcing events, analyzing the supply market, and managing vendor relationships to ensure alignment with corporate objectives. The role emphasizes collaboration across internal functions and with third-party service providers to enhance operational capabilities and drive competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate material creation and timeline with printers, fulfillment center, and internal stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aware of deadlines and current activity.
  • Work with fulfillment center to forecast quantities and develop POP kit SKUs.
  • Develop item management system to document existing assets, materials, costs, and quantities.
  • Identify and quantify areas of opportunity related to material creation, shipping, and fulfillment costs with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify program level risks, issues, and mitigation plans, communicating relevant items to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensure existing services from suppliers meet their service targets.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Interface with key executives, including the Chief Marketing Officer and (S)VPs, to drive productivity.
  • Set strategies for key categories and drive value for Subway with well-executed plans.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategy and savings aligned with company strategy and best practices.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts for Global and North American Marketing spend in agencies.
  • Engage senior executives from key suppliers in strategic supplier management for value creation and innovation.
  • Optimize marketing spend and drive cost reductions with continuous improvement.
  • Manage Global Creative, Media, and Digital spend to industry benchmarks.
  • Optimize vendor management for key marketing vendors to maximize relationships with strategic vendors.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Technical Field, or equivalent experience managing a spend category.
  • 6+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Vendor management skills.
  • Experience in Global Strategic Sourcing and marketing sourcing.
  • Management of vendor relationships and expertise in outsourcing.
  • Knowledge of the procure to pay process.
  • Understanding of legal contracts and procurement or sourcing experience.
  • Indirect Procurement experience.
  • Proven track record of working with multiple executive level stakeholders to deliver results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including total cost analysis.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Strong negotiation and sourcing skills.
  • Ability to interface with Subway Leadership Team (ELT) members.
  • Strong consulting skills, specifically in managing change, project management, and presenting.
  • Familiarity with outsourcing, vendor management, and service level agreements.
