About the position

The Senior Manager Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of JetBlue's Maintenance Control and Technical Support activities. Reporting directly to the Director of the Maintenance Operations Center, this position is responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy of critical documentation such as the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL), and Non-Essential Equipment and Furnishing List (NEF). The Senior Manager will assign daily oversight of Deferred Maintenance items and Maintenance Control activities to the Duty Manager of Maintenance Control, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. In addition to daily oversight, the Senior Manager will assist the Director in formulating the Maintenance Technical Support budget and will be responsible for scheduling and monitoring the daily manpower requirements for the Maintenance Control Duty Manager. This role also involves overseeing the Deferred Maintenance Program, which includes MEL, CDL, and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) items, and coordinating the Return to Service plan for Out of Service Aircraft. The Senior Manager will accept Delegation of Authority from the Director during absences and will assist in revising company manuals as necessary. A significant aspect of this role is the development of crewmembers, supporting their engagement, growth, and goal achievement. The Senior Manager will also conduct or delegate the Technical Operations Performance Review and will take on other duties as assigned, ensuring that all responsibilities align with JetBlue's commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns daily oversight of Deferred Maintenance items and Maintenance Control activities to the Duty Manager of Maintenance Control
  • Responsible for the technical accuracy of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL) and Non-Essential Equipment and Furnishing List (NEF)
  • Assists the Director Maintenance Operations Center in formulating the Maintenance Technical Support budget
  • Schedules and monitors the daily manpower requirements for Maintenance Control Duty Manager
  • Oversees Deferred Maintenance Program (MEL/CDL/General Maintenance Manual (GMM) items)
  • Responsible for Out of Service Aircraft and coordinates Return to Service plan
  • Assists the Director Maintenance Operations Center in establishing Maintenance Control procedures
  • Accepts Delegation of Authority from the Director Maintenance Operations Center during an absence
  • Assists in the revision of company manuals
  • Conducts or delegates the Technical Operations Performance Review
  • Takes a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, goal achievement
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Six (6) years of airline maintenance experience
  • Four (4) years of aviation leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of Part 121 Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's)
  • Experience building and managing a budget
  • Track record of capturing value and savings within a Technical Operations function
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal, written, as well as strong analytical and time management skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (30%)
  • Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Possess and maintain a valid U.S. Driver's License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways' insurance standards
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
