About the position

The Senior Manager - Network Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) at Arista Networks plays a pivotal role in the Sales Engineering team, acting as a trusted advisor to customers while leading a smaller team of Systems Engineers. This position involves direct customer engagement to gather requirements, identify opportunities, and provide technical guidance. Responsibilities

• Manage a smaller team on an ongoing basis
• Guide team members on the technical front
• Provide career path guidance to team members
• Partner with Arista Account Managers to understand customer pain points
• Conduct whiteboard network architectural reviews
• Present Arista's networking solutions to customers
• Architect, design, and propose Arista Data Center & Campus network solutions
• Perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups
• Put together design guidelines and recommend improvements to customer networks
• Partner with Sales Team to respond to RFP/RFQs
• Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering
• Represent Arista at industry events and conferences
• Keep up-to-date on competitive solutions, products, and services
• Author white papers on technology and product

Requirements

• 3+ years in a Systems Engineering role
• BS/CS/CE technical degree required
• 7+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience
• Expert level experience with routing and switching including L2/L3 protocols
• Recent experience in leaf-spine architecture design
• Demonstrated work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE or Network Consulting Engineer
• Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS
• Good understanding of competitor technology landscape (Cisco, Juniper)
• Expert level knowledge of industry-standard CLI
• Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) highly desired
• Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible desired
• Ability to write white papers a plus
