About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Manager of Accounting to join our fast-paced manufacturing team in the clean energy sector. This position is crucial as it involves overseeing all accounting operations and functions within the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements, managing the year-end close processes, and developing and implementing internal control policies and procedures. This is a permanent role that offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse, innovative team in a highly respected manufacturing company. In this role, you will oversee and manage the general accounting functions, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes. You will also manage the preparation and publication of departmental and organizational financial documents. Collaboration with executive leadership to define financial strategy and policy will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will lead the year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial and management reports, including income statements, balance sheets, budgets, variance reports, projections, forecasts, and cash flow statements. Additionally, you will implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls. Establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with managers and employees, including interactions with our internal and external auditors, will be essential. You will supervise the accounting department to ensure the efficient operation of all functions and perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High proficiency in financial reporting, including year-end reporting, as well as in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and GAAP.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial software and MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analysis skills, and the ability to manage complex information with discretion and integrity.
  • An ability to drive process improvements and keep pace with our growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment.
