About the position

The Senior Manager of Art and Graphic Design at Public Strategies is a strategic visionary responsible for leading the development of creative concepts and campaigns. This role combines artistic talent, leadership skills, and business acumen to enhance brand identity and visual storytelling. The manager oversees creative teams, collaborates with various departments, and ensures that all creative outputs align with the company's business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior management, account managers, and clients on strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Research innovative styles and techniques for impactful messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Lead creative direction in developing and executing conceptual design solutions across various media platforms.
  • Build coalitions at all organizational levels, including clients and vendors.
  • Create, implement, and manage processes to enhance design team effectiveness.
  • Manage a team of graphic designers, fostering collaboration and independent thinking.
  • Lead by example and foster a culture of teamwork and respect.
  • Adapt to new or changing projects, systems, roles, and technology.
  • Prioritize and organize a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Effectively articulate creative vision and concept, incorporating feedback from team and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field, or 4+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of graphic design experience with a focus on print and digital creative.
  • 5 years of experience leading creative teams.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining websites.
  • UI/UX experience preferred.
  • Human-centered design experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor a high-performing creative team.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client relationship management.
  • Strategic mindset to align creative vision with business objectives.
  • Understanding of budgets, resource allocation, and ROI.
  • Skilled in producing innovative design solutions with high visual impact.
  • Empathetic leadership and design approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Creative problem-solver capable of independent and team work.
  • Familiarity with visual communication techniques on social media.
