About the position

The Senior Manager of Cost Accounting is responsible for overseeing and controlling costs related to inventory, providing financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with internal policies. This role involves managing product costs, performing audits, and generating financial reports, with a focus on process improvements and accurate cost estimation.

Responsibilities

  • Create annual standard cost updates
  • Conduct inventory analysis
  • Analyze pricing of goods and services
  • Perform account reconciliation
  • Manage daily cash receipts
  • Generate financial reports and statements
  • Calculate labor rates for goods
  • Manage product cost and margin forecast
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Implement process improvements where needed
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience
  • CPA certification
  • Proven product cost experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Big 4 or large regional public accounting foundation
  • NetSuite experience
