About the position

In this role at Alo, you will be responsible for managing a North American territory to drive the brand's growth through strategic real estate decisions. This includes building market strategies, sourcing new store locations, negotiating leases, and optimizing the existing store portfolio. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure successful store openings and ongoing operations, while also being a subject matter expert in real estate management.

Responsibilities

  • Build market plans for major North American markets.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to build alignment around growth strategy.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of stores in your region.
  • Source new store locations per year, including site selection and due diligence.
  • Negotiate Letters of Intent (LOIs) and develop approval packages for Real Estate Committee presentations.
  • Coordinate with Legal on lease negotiation and execution.
  • Work with design and construction teams for planning new stores.
  • Source and analyze market data including sales and rent comps, demographic data, and competitor locations.
  • Coordinate with finance to manage lease systems and key dates.
  • Manage the North American portfolio and fleet optimization as it grows.
  • Act as the internal real estate contact for operational issues with stores.

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in real estate roles, including at least 5+ years in a deal-making role for apparel retailers.
  • Track record of executed leases and managing portfolio (renewals, expansions, closures, etc.).
  • Experience sourcing and managing brokers.
  • Ability to work with spatial data and conduct due diligence for sites.
  • Proven success working independently with remote management.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of using data to drive decisions.
  • Strong presentation skills to cross-functional teams and executives.
