About the position

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you will lead and mentor multiple technical teams within the Corporate Sector - Data Lake & Analytics team. This role involves providing technical coaching, anticipating the needs of various functions, and influencing budget and technical considerations to enhance operational efficiencies. You will work within a product operating model to deliver innovative data management solutions and ensure successful collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
• Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
• Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
• Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team.
• Create a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritize diverse representation.
• Work with public cloud services with a focus on data and ML engineer personas.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience leading teams of technologists.
• Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Extensive experience in Cloud Services such as AWS or Azure; Java and Python; Maven; UNIX; Microservices; GIT; REST web services; Software Development; SQL; Databases; Messaging and Events; Caching; Spark; Big Data storage, processing, and consumption.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
