About the position

The Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Capital One will lead a diverse portfolio of technology projects within the Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) team. This role focuses on driving transformation through innovative technology solutions, managing a team of developers, and ensuring the delivery of robust cloud-based solutions that empower customers financially. The position emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and staying abreast of technological advancements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Share passion for technology trends and mentor other members of the engineering community.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that enhance customer experiences.
• Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, along with various AWS tools and services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 4 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree
• 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java or Python
• 7+ years of people management experience
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
• 4+ years of experience with ETL or other data management tools
• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD pipeline.
