About the position

The Senior Manager of Software Engineering - Pega/Java/AWS at JPMorgan Chase plays a crucial leadership role within the Consumer and Community Banking, Fraud Claims Disputes Tech team. This position involves mentoring and advising multiple technical teams, driving financial technologies forward, and influencing budget and technical considerations to enhance operational efficiencies. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders while fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
• Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
• Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
• Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team.
• Create a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritize diverse representation.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience.
• 2 years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
• Experience leading teams of technologists.
• Experience with Pega, Java, Microservices, and AWS.
• Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines.

Nice-to-haves

• Banking - Fraud claims experience is desired.
