The Senior Manager Oracle Applications Database position is a critical role within a prestigious enterprise company, focusing on the management and maintenance of Oracle Applications databases. This is a hands-on position that requires a deep understanding of database management, ensuring that production uptime service levels are maintained according to the company's requirements. The role encompasses various responsibilities, including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and security management, both physical and data-related. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting multiple levels of database management. This includes overseeing the physical and technical aspects such as storage, security, and networking, as well as handling application-related issues like queries and user management. You will ensure that database resources are appropriately sized and that a strategic design is in place to maintain the database at a healthy size. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the availability and performance of multi-database and application environments that handle large volumes of data. Additionally, you will manage the Oracle Cloud OCI platform, maintaining ongoing integrations and configurations to ensure the cloud platform remains in optimal condition. Routine DBA tasks such as database maintenance, backups, recovery, and upgrades will also fall under your purview. You will conduct periodic health checks for databases, recommend necessary changes for optimal performance, and collaborate with various infrastructure, security, and IT teams for environment setup and maintenance. This role is vital for planning and responding to service outages, monitoring system performance, and providing patch management to mitigate new threats. Your responsibilities will also include creating and testing data backups, performing database configuration and monitoring, and ensuring system health through technical security and recovery measures. You will maintain Oracle Quarterly Releases and patch management schedules, support systems development, migration, and integration efforts, and contribute significantly to work plans for security analysis and recommendations.
