About the position

As a Senior Manager of People Operations at Milestone, you will be responsible for operational excellence within the region, tailoring and executing the global HR strategy to meet the needs of the business and its people. This role involves collaborating with the global P&C leadership team, building key regional processes, championing company culture, and delivering a fantastic employee experience. The position requires working in a hybrid schedule out of the Americas Headquarters in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and reports to the Director of Regional Business and People Support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team that supports and maintains accurate employee records, assists with benefits administration, and ensures HR data is updated in HRIS systems.
  • Oversee People Operations, streamlining workflows to reduce manual effort and ensure efficiency.
  • Manage HR systems (e.g., Oracle and Paycom) to ensure smooth onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
  • Act as the local labor expert for guidance and regulation, assisting with the development and review of employment policies and procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives, such as surveys and recognition programs.
  • Work closely with the Global HR team to ensure a cohesive approach to People Ops activities regionally.
  • Track and improve key People Ops metrics, reporting regularly to leadership and recommending adjustments to optimize efficiencies.
  • Stay current with local and regional guidelines regarding Human Resources trends and compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in fast-growing startups or high-performing organizations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading and mentoring a team.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian labor laws.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and within a global organization.
  • Clear, concise communication skills for explaining HR policies and processes.
  • Proven ability to meet and improve operational KPIs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in employee engagement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems like Oracle and Paycom.
