About the position

As the Senior Manager of Product Development, you will lead the development of products from ideation to completion within assigned categories. This role requires leveraging skills in communication, market knowledge, sales analysis, quality, and fit to ensure that product specifications meet quality standards and customer needs. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to drive initiatives, resolve issues, and maintain alignment throughout the product lifecycle. This hybrid position allows for a mix of in-office and remote work, adapting to team and role requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with category/merchandising management to provide advice on product strategies and direction for product needs.
  • Lead the planning and management of performance to drive growth for the category.
  • Establish a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and seek creative ideas for business improvements and innovation.
  • Identify potential issues during the product lifecycle and perform product reviews to evaluate products against specifications.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend solutions to resolve product issues.
  • Create a cohesive team environment that supports career growth and organizational goals, including conducting quarterly reviews and talent assessments.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in consumer product development, merchandising, or retail branding.
  • 3 years of experience conveying complex or technical ideas to diverse audiences.
  • 1 year of experience developing end-to-end strategy in a category-focused role.
  • Understanding of product trends, industry trends, merchandising, and program profitability analysis.
  • Knowledge of business operations, finance, and distribution requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with major international product brands and consumer electronics retailers.
