Bombas is seeking a motivated leader to join our Sourcing team as the Senior Manager of Product Development for Footwear. This role is pivotal in executing our footwear sourcing and product strategies, ensuring that we create and produce premium products that meet customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in footwear sourcing and development, along with at least 3 years of management experience. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Sourcing & Product Development and will be based at our Bombas HQ in New York City. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a footwear sourcing strategy that aligns with our design vision and financial goals. You will manage the end-to-end product development process, ensuring that we create best-in-class products from ideation through to being buy-ready. Your responsibilities will include overseeing product development, costing, and the processes involved in creating innovative products that meet customer expectations. You will also drive product engineering, technical construction, and fit for each style, while leading the development of new materials and construction techniques that meet our design, performance, fit, comfort, and quality expectations. Additionally, you will partner with the Production team to negotiate lead times that support speedy delivery to market and work with the Quality team to establish testing standards for footwear. Identifying potential risks in the supply chain and developing mitigation plans will also be part of your responsibilities. You will assess and onboard new vendors to support business growth and assist the Production and Quality teams with any product quality issues during production. Furthermore, you will contribute to creating the seasonal go-to-market calendar and manage deadlines for footwear, while also being a PLM system expert to efficiently execute job functions and implement improvements. As a mentor, you will guide cross-functional teams on footwear materials, construction, technology, quality, and costing.
