About the position

The Senior Manager of Product Development for Global Channel Development at Starbucks is responsible for leading a team of product developers to innovate, develop, and launch ready-to-drink (RTD) products in collaboration with strategic partners. This role focuses on optimizing processes and enhancing the product development lifecycle while ensuring alignment with financial and business objectives. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with various departments to deliver exceptional products that embody the Starbucks experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to translate and execute retail café products and new concepts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to bring products to market through sound strategy and co-creation.
  • Ensure project plans, timelines, and commercialization plans are effective and aligned with company goals.
  • Originate new ideas and concepts based on market trends.
  • Work with Brand, External Partnerships, Global Coffee, Sourcing, Quality, and Regulatory teams to successfully launch products.
  • Structure the team to meet business strategy and partner development goals.
  • Align scope of work and resources across teams, adjusting as necessary.
  • Create an environment that fosters growth and development for partners and teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product development and manufacturing scale-up of food and beverage products, particularly coffee-related products.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of 3 or more people.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across the business and partnerships.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide teams through uncertainty and drive results.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of sensory, experimental design, statistics, and consumer research methodology.
  • BS/MS in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related scientific discipline.
