About the position

The position involves project management activities to support the Product Development organization at Bristol Myers Squibb. The individual will be responsible for planning and executing a range of initiatives that align with the strategic goals of the company, ensuring effective governance and tracking of milestones, metrics, and KPIs across various projects. This role requires collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to drive successful outcomes in drug development.

Responsibilities

  • Support tracking milestones, metrics, and KPIs across a portfolio of strategic initiatives impacting global Product Development.
  • Apply digital and analytical tools to streamline and improve reporting of program and initiative status and progress.
  • Track resource demand and supply across the strategic initiative portfolio, identifying and resolving conflicts, bottlenecks, and budgetary risks.
  • Facilitate regular initiative portfolio reviews and prioritization exercises to ensure focus on important deliverables.
  • Serve as project manager or participate in initiatives identified in PD/PDO annual objectives and/or strategic initiatives.
  • Provide departmental business operations support, including tracking objectives and facilitating staff meetings.
  • Oversee the Product Development Barriers to Execution Tracking and Resolution (BETAR) program.
  • Serve as delegate for Product Development Deputy Chief of Staff.
  • Lead special projects on behalf of the PDO Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in drug development with direct experience in CMC development, business operations, project management, and matrix leadership.
  • Exceptional capability to build alignment with senior level business partners.
  • Results-oriented with the discipline to focus on execution of strategic decisions while balancing conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to influence areas not under direct control to achieve objectives and effectively communicate challenging goals & objectives.
  • Deep experience managing a broad portfolio of projects of significant complexity and duration across a global network.
  • Exceptional executive written & oral communications skills with proven savvy in executive escalation of critical issues.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and build strong relationships by being transparent, reliable, and delivering on commitments.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills and a decisive yet collaborative leadership style.
  • Demonstrated excellence with project management principles and application, managing multiple projects simultaneously and evaluating priorities.
  • Excellent facilitation skills in small- and large-group settings.
