About the position

The Senior Manager, Product Performance & Revenue at Hyundai Motor America plays a crucial role in aligning the company's product and sales strategies with mid-term profit commitments. This position is responsible for monitoring the performance of the entire Hyundai portfolio post-launch and making recommendations to maximize profit and improve opportunities across various model lines. The Senior Manager serves as the Voice of Americas for the product teams and provides guidance to the Product Development Office (PDO) leadership on all product performance matters, ensuring that manufacturing plants meet product planning and sales targets. In this role, the Senior Manager will lead the formulation of both short-term and long-term product strategies from a consolidated profitability perspective. They will support management decision-making on profit issues and improvement measures that extend beyond individual model levels, taking a cross-carline perspective. The Senior Manager will consolidate cross-carline profitability impacts and support all North American markets, including the US, Canada, and Mexico. Additionally, they will manage the mid-term plan (MTP) forecast of company-wide profitability, aligning it with vehicle operational profit and profit improvement activities committed at each milestone. The position also involves steering the company's business plan to align with the operational profit committed at milestones and model years. The Senior Manager will validate the business case for advanced products and services that have cross-carline profitability impacts, optimize profitability and positioning between models, and formulate a price-cost strategy roadmap for the company's electrification initiatives (HEV/EV/etc.). Furthermore, they will expand the Product Development Office's practices to other regional headquarters within Hyundai.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the formulation of short-term and long-term product strategies from a consolidated profitability perspective.
  • Support management decision-making on profit issues and improvement measures across model lines.
  • Consolidate cross-carline profitability impacts for North American markets including the US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Manage mid-term plan (MTP) forecast of company-wide profitability aligned with operational profit and improvement activities.
  • Steer the company's business plan to align with operational profit commitments at milestones and model years.
  • Validate business cases for advanced products and services with cross-carline profitability impacts.
  • Optimize profitability and positioning between models, and formulate price-cost strategy roadmap for electrification initiatives.
  • Expand Product Development Office practices to other regional headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Eight or more years of professional experience in automotive manufacturing or distribution with direct product responsibilities (planning, marketing, and/or sales).
  • Minimum five years of supervisory experience desired.
  • Cross-functional team management experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Good organizational and data mining skills.
  • Effective communication skills with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues and develop compelling points of view.
  • Outstanding written and verbal presentation skills for external and senior leadership interactions.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive technology.
