About the position

The Senior Manager of Product Services & Management is responsible for overseeing the staff and activities of the department, ensuring that technology solutions align with the strategic goals of the organization. This role involves partnering with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to develop and implement cost-effective systems that meet operational and organizational needs. The Senior Manager will act as a project manager for significant initiatives, guiding the life cycle from business requirement gathering to technical specification documentation, testing plan development, and strategic deployment considerations. In this position, the Senior Manager will provide leadership to the Product Services & Management team, fostering an environment that encourages communication and collaboration towards achieving departmental objectives. The role requires the development and communication of goals that align with the health system's mission, as well as the planning, organization, and management of staff activities within assigned technology areas. This includes selecting, developing, managing, and evaluating direct reports, ensuring timely completion of performance appraisals. The Senior Manager will collaborate with other managers to design, develop, test, and implement technology solutions that are cost-effective and meet the health system's needs. This involves gathering and understanding business requirements and ensuring that application requirements are accurately translated into proposals and functional specifications. The role also includes maintaining accurate data and ensuring its availability in a clear and useful format, initiating periodic audits and reviews as necessary. Additionally, the Senior Manager will follow testing and implementation protocols, monitor deliverables to ensure deadlines are met, and work collaboratively with management on assigned projects and initiatives. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and streamlining operations, as well as building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimize operations. The Senior Manager must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all assigned data and the interconnects within the health system, ensuring that the highest quality standards are met in department software, applications, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to Product Services & Management team members, supervisors, and managers by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
  • Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
  • Plans, organizes, and manages the staff and activities for an assigned technology area; selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborates with managers in the design, development, testing, and implementation of cost-effective technology solutions, including gathering and understanding business requirements, and ensuring application requirements are translated accurately into proposals and functional specifications.
  • Ensures data is accurately maintained and available in a forum that is clear, concise, useful and timely; initiates periodic audits and reviews, as needed.
  • Follows testing and implementation protocols; monitors deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Works collaboratively with management in the coordination and implementation of assigned projects and initiatives; looks for opportunities to improve and streamline processes; reports unresolved issues to management.
  • Oversees assigned analysts and developers to assess and prioritize the health system support requests; reviews internal and external resources such as Information Technology, consultants, the health system vendors, and third-party administrators with management to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Builds and maintains inter/intra departmental and vendor work relationships to optimize operations.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of all assigned data and the health system interconnects, including cause and effect of data modifications.
  • Maintains department software, the health system applications and data, and documentation to ensure highest quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience and 5-7 years of leadership/management experience required.
