About the position

The CVS Accountable Care business is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Program Management to play a pivotal role in the CVS ACO Operations teams. This position is designed for an individual with strong organizational and strategic capabilities who can effectively manage and oversee project deliverables throughout the implementation phase and maintain ongoing relationships within an assigned region. The Senior Manager will engage in frequent interactions, both virtually and occasionally in person, with external partners such as clinically integrated networks and independent physician associations. This role requires the ability to independently capture deliverables, document project plans, communicate risks, and track completion of various tasks. In this capacity, the Senior Manager will lead multiple complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all implementation requirements across various workstreams are executed efficiently. The individual will collaborate with both internal and external cross-functional teams to develop and implement tactical plans aimed at driving performance improvements within the Accountable Care program. Additionally, the Senior Manager will support the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual programmatic requirements, ensuring that all project milestones are met and that resources are effectively negotiated and allocated. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including defining project scope, resource requirements, budget, timeline, deliverables, dependencies, and milestones. The Senior Manager will maintain a focus on project risks and interdependencies, proactively addressing any issues that arise. This position also involves facilitating meetings, ensuring thorough documentation of status updates, issues, risks, budgets, and decisions, and collaborating with other functional managers and business areas. The Senior Manager will assist the Executive Director with information requests, reporting requirements, and ad hoc requests, while also leading pilot projects and sharing best practices across different markets to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all project and/or program management work including monitoring and tracking of progress and status update communications.
  • Define project scope, resource requirements, budget, timeline, deliverables, dependencies, milestones, and plans.
  • Maintain focus on project risks and interdependencies throughout the project and proactively address risks.
  • Drive results and resolve issues.
  • Facilitate meetings and ensure clear, complete, thorough, and consistent documentation of status, issues, risks, budget, decisions.
  • Collaborate and partner with other functional managers and other business areas.
  • Support Executive Director with requests for information, reporting requirements, and ad hoc requests.
  • Help to lead pilot projects, share best practices with other markets, and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Take meeting minutes and ensure all tasks are being tracked/managed.
  • Deliver project plans outlining key activities, milestones, deliverables, responsible parties, and dependencies.
  • Deliver assignment tracking matrix to document action items, risk, decisions tracking.
  • Generate weekly status reporting which includes an overview of project process in status report including completed activities, upcoming activities, and risks/issues to project completion.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of program/project management, project implementation and/or project consultation experience with demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience, clinical operations, provider implementations, or Medicare experience.
  • Proven track record with meeting project milestones and negotiating for resources.
  • Proven ability to satisfy customer's needs and develop alternatives to resolve issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and project management tools.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
