Responsibilities

  • Support the development of PR campaigns and strategies to improve company perception as a digital leader in global education.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with journalists and manage day-to-day interactions on behalf of McGraw Hill.
  • Write and edit press communications, including press releases and media pitches.
  • Leverage media monitoring tools to measure and report on the impact of PR efforts.
  • Develop talking points and briefing materials for senior leaders preparing for media interviews.
  • Stay informed about media coverage and seek new opportunities to tell the McGraw Hill story.
  • Manage the distribution of daily media digests and weekly news round-ups for the Corporate Communications team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 6-8 years of work experience in communications, PR, or journalism.
  • Organized and detail-oriented project manager with a strong interest in media evolution.
  • Experience working with top-tier media covering education is a plus.
  • Comfortable interacting with journalists and speaking on behalf of the company.
  • Ability to partner and coach senior executives and thought leaders.
  • Interest in using data to inform and optimize PR strategies.
  • Excellent writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and adapt to change.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in education-related public relations or journalism.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools and performance measurement.
