About the position

The Sr. Manager, Revenue Accounting at Sumitomo Pharma will be responsible for overseeing the record to report process for product revenue accounting. This includes managing the GTN system (Anaplan), preparing key accruals, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring accurate reporting at period-end. The role also involves collaboration with internal and external auditors and participation in strategic discussions related to revenue accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of Anaplan (GTN revenue system) for certain products.
  • Maintain and tie-out the Anaplan system weekly and at period end financial closes for all products.
  • Estimate and assume ownership over certain revenue discounts (GTN) by product at quarter-end.
  • Calculate, record and report prior period adjustments for selected products at quarter-end.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for selected GTN liabilities at period-end.
  • Contribute to external and internal audit meetings and deliverables.
  • Participate in strategic discussions surrounding the revenue accounting function.
  • Assist in reviewing customer contracts for revenue recognition with regards to IFRS 15.
  • Maintain contract databases for customers.
  • Play a key role in the quarter GTN pre-quarter close meeting.
  • Participate in forecasting and budget meetings with FPA and Market Access as requested.
  • Assist in preparing period-end revenue accounting reporting.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance or related field.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry without a Master's degree, or 6-8 years with a Master's degree.
  • Experience working with ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15 in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Strong experience working with Excel.
  • Experience working in a top tier ERP system (SAP or Oracle).
