Team Overview Our Finance team is a passionate, high-performing group committed to supporting PowerSchool operations through accurate and timely financial transaction management. The team provides critical business guidance on a broad range of accounting, reporting, and analytical projects, ensuring the integrity of financial data. The Revenue Team plays a pivotal role in our company's success by ensuring that our revenue recognition processes are optimized and compliant with regulatory standards. By partnering closely with our legal, finance, and sales teams, the Revenue Team meticulously reviews and analyzes sales contracts to guarantee alignment with ASC 606. This collaboration not only safeguards the company against potential compliance risks but also enhances our financial reporting accuracy. Responsibilities: Description The ideal candidate must possess strong critical thinking and communication skills. This person will partner closely with our cross-functional teams to structure and negotiate contractual terms, perform revenue close accounting activities, as well as work with key stakeholders, lead projects, develop new processes and improve on the month-end close process. The position requires a hands-on person who is flexible, solutions-oriented and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Your impact will consist of: Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Sales Operations on deal construction and non-standard contract reviews to determine revenue impact and provide recommendations to maximize revenue and other key financial metrics. Support monthly closing activities including, but not limited to, reviewing non-routine revenue transactions, performing accounting assessments, preparing accurate journal entries, and documenting revenue conclusions. Research, resolve, and operationalize complex and non-routine revenue accounting transactions. Identify actionable insights and suggest recommendations to address issues and improve accounting processes/efficiencies. Monitor revenue inbox to respond timely and appropriately to business requests. Participate in and/or lead projects and initiatives with cross functional impacts. Assist with external audits and special projects as needed. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 8+ years of relevant and related work experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Advance knowledge of ASC 606 revenue accounting guidance Experience with SaaS or Software Company revenue recognition Experience in writing complex technical revenue accounting position papers Experience partnering with FP&A, Sales, Legal to deliver insightful information Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and execute in a fast-paced environment with attention to details Team player and effective communicator with all levels of management and cross functional organizations.
