About the position

The Sr. Manager, Sales & Marketing Applications is responsible for providing technical oversight for all applications utilized by the Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, and Customer Service departments at Motrex LLC. This role involves leading a team of IT professionals and third-party services to maintain existing applications while enhancing functionality within the Sales & Marketing Applications area. The position requires collaboration with internal customers and business sponsors to establish business requirements for the acquisition, development, and implementation of business systems and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex business needs presented by the user community and recommend technical solutions.
  • Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  • Direct operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Produce detailed timelines for each application release and implement effective project control by monitoring progress and reporting status.
  • Direct and prioritize the workload of subordinate personnel.
  • Review all designs, code, and unit test plans where applicable.
  • Ensure all business requirements are reviewed and approved prior to technical development.
  • Participate in hardware and software evaluations and maintain vendor contracts.
  • Represent the IT function at customer review meetings when appropriate.
  • Direct education programs for staff.
  • Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in systems and application design, modifications, or troubleshooting.
  • Conduct salary administration, performance evaluations, and interviews, making recommendations for new hires, consultants, and replacements.
  • Participate in business strategy discussions and determine potential IT contributions to business plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT or a similar applications-focused role, with at least 4 years managing technology activities associated with Sales & Marketing Applications.
  • Strong leadership, project management, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Salesforce.com platform including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and AppExchange.
  • Experience with website technologies and understanding of EDI processes is a plus.
  • Proven experience in IT Management or similar role.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT Applications and their specifications.
  • Knowledge and experience with system integration tools and supporting internal and external integrations.
  • Experience in controlling information technology budgets.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to Sales & Marketing processes.
  • Experience within the industrial manufacturing industry is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting Servicemax or Salesforce Field Service.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques, methodologies, and tools.
