About the position

The Senior Manager of Sales & Operations Planning at our client's global glass manufacturing company is a pivotal role designed to enhance visibility into demand and capacity within the Automotive division. This position requires a subject matter expert in demand planning, network optimization, and capacity planning, who will support various projects including the development of monthly demand plans, consumption models, and the optimization of network and production strategies. The Senior Manager will also play a crucial role in the integration of new businesses and the launch of new products, ensuring that the organization is well-prepared to meet market demands. In this leadership role, the Senior Manager will facilitate each Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting, ensuring that the team remains focused on the established plans. This position is essential for delivering an ongoing commercial review process and expediting the necessary transformation steps within the organization. The Senior Manager will be responsible for capacity planning and inventory control, including the implementation of new technologies to enhance execution. They will work closely with the Sales team to ensure clear demand planning and will lead monthly S&OP meetings with Operations and Sales teams. Additionally, the Senior Manager will conduct quarterly meetings with the Senior Leadership Team to review capacity and demand planning, capturing the status and challenges in a monthly dashboard for the S&OP committee teams. They will ensure that standardized templates and data sources are developed and executed each month, adhering to an agreed calendar that allows for the holistic raising of issues and actions across departments in advance. This role demands a strategic approach to communication and a strong focus on driving results while managing and engaging talent through clear expectations and skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Capacity Planning/Inventory Control including the implementation of new technology for execution.
  • Execute process with Sales for clear demand planning.
  • Lead monthly S&OP meetings with Operations and Sales.
  • Lead quarterly meetings with the Senior Leadership Team (executives) to review Capacity and Demand Planning.
  • Capture the status and challenges in the monthly dashboard to the S&OP committee teams.
  • Ensure standardized templates and data sources are developed and executed each month.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • CPIM or CSCP certification (APICS) desired.
  • 5 - 10 years related experience in Supply Chain or related field.
  • 3+ years related experience in Automotive Industry.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies and the ability to integrate those into operation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills in strategy and communication at all levels and execution.
  • Excellent people skills and project management skills with the ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
  • Proficiency with SAP.
  • Must have excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
