About the position

The Senior Manager Sales Operations plays a critical role in leading and managing the administration of sales systems within Ryder. This position is tasked with overseeing financial reporting on all sales data for assigned business segments and providing strategic consultation for initiatives that impact revenue growth for customers. The individual will be responsible for developing a comprehensive data strategy, creating a roadmap, and leading the initiation, planning, design, and implementation of various components and integrations within the sales system architecture. This role requires a strong focus on delivering accurate and timely information to support decision-making at all organizational levels. In terms of sales system administration, the Senior Manager will ensure the integrity of data and workflows, manage technical risks, and provide leadership on programs and projects that align with business objectives. The individual will interact with senior business management to understand their information needs and will work closely with consultants to translate these needs into actionable system capabilities. This includes establishing standards, processes, methodologies, and governance for data integration and services, as well as facilitating consensus among source system owners on integrations. The role also encompasses sales reporting responsibilities, where the Senior Manager will coordinate monthly sales reporting for various stakeholders, including the sales team, sales leadership, finance, and executive leadership. They will provide strategic guidance on revenue-generating activities based on sales data and reporting, support the annual budgeting process, and facilitate performance reviews with metrics and tracking. Additionally, the Senior Manager will manage the Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) process with Docusign integration to ensure accurate sales package reporting and compliance. As a key liaison to all other sales channels and functional areas within Ryder, the Senior Manager will manage account and territory processes, support monthly forecasting and annual projections, and evaluate and implement automation tools to enhance revenue generation and retention activities. The position also involves training and developing direct reports to ensure a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain overall architecture strategy and data integrity for sales systems.
  • Interact with senior business management to understand their decision-making information needs.
  • Create original concepts to fit business needs into system capabilities.
  • Establish standards, processes, methodologies, and governance for data integration and services.
  • Provide technology direction and establish governing standards for data quality.
  • Support the design and execution of key growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate monthly sales reporting for various stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic guidance on revenue-generating activities based on sales data.
  • Facilitate performance reviews with metrics and tracking.
  • Manage the Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) process with Docusign integration.
  • Operate as a key liaison to all other sales channels and functional areas.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement automation tools to support revenue generation and retention activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, computer science, engineering, or a relevant field required.
  • Master's degree (MBA) preferred.
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in Sales Operations or a similar role required.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience managing others or leading teams required.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Micro Strategy, Tableau) at an advanced level required.
  • Knowledge of SQL for database queries at an intermediate level required.
  • Strong knowledge of MS-Excel for data manipulation, including pivot tables and model creation at an advanced level required.
  • Knowledge and experience with customer databases, data warehousing, and sales automation systems at an intermediate level preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with process redesign at an intermediate level required.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com reports and dashboards at an intermediate level required.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce back office functionality at an advanced level required.

  • Experience presenting to executives preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer databases and data warehousing systems preferred.
