About the position

As an ETI Senior Manager at Deloitte Tax LLP, you will lead teams in implementing technology solutions that enhance tax department operations. This role involves business development, client management, engagement management, practice development, and people development, all aimed at maximizing the strategic value of tax functions within organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients.
  • Organize and lead pursuit teams for business development.
  • Participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process.
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors.
  • Lead engagement planning and budgeting, mobilizing and managing engagement teams.
  • Define deliverable structure and content, facilitating buy-in from top management levels at the client.
  • Direct on-time, quality delivery of work products and manage engagement economics and risk.
  • Develop practical solutions and methodologies, including thought leadership documents.
  • Participate in public speaking events and get published in industry periodicals.
  • Act as a counselor and coach, providing input into staffing processes and participating in recruitment and retention activities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience in corporate, multistate, indirect, value-added, or transaction tax compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Completion of at least two full lifecycle SAP implementations.
  • Experience with tax technology applications (e.g., OneSource, Vertex, Avalara, Sovos/Taxware, Oracle Enterprise Business Tax).
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on work and client needs.
  • One of the following accreditations: Licensed CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, Project Management (PMP), or other technical certifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree such as MST, JD, or LLM.
  • Experience with a Big 4 firm or large ERP/consulting organization.
  • Experience in ERP system implementation.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills using MS Visio and MS PowerPoint.
