About the position

Circle is seeking a passionate and highly organized Security Leader to manage a global team of detection engineers within the Security Operations team. This role focuses on incident response, improving SOC processes through automation and technology, and collaborating with various teams to enhance security measures. The Security Leader will also be responsible for mentoring team members and ensuring the organization adheres to its core values of multi-stakeholder engagement, mindfulness, excellence, and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Command incident response efforts and act as a subject matter expert for incidents across the organization.
  • Manage the long tail of incidents beyond containment and eradication, ensuring preventative gaps are closed to prevent recurrence.
  • Build and document robust processes for handling events and incidents.
  • Model threats to inform detection and logging priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for enrichments, automations, and AI to improve detection efficiencies.
  • Develop, drive, and communicate project roadmaps to the team.
  • Design and conduct tabletop scenarios for security incidents, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
  • Provide mentorship, support, and career development opportunities for team members.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to lead and work collaboratively across teams during high-stress situations.
  • Organized project management mindset for establishing processes and driving projects to completion.
  • Enthusiasm for automation and scalable security practices.
  • Experience working in an AWS environment is desired.
  • Understanding of standards such as ISO 27001/27002 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and use good judgment to establish order of priorities on the fly.
  • Experience working in financial services or financial technology is desired.
  • 1+ year of experience managing medium-sized teams.
  • 7+ years of experience in security operations with a heavy emphasis on Incident Response.
  • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS, and Google Workspace.
