About the position

The Senior Manager, Senior Instructional Designer at Schwab is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining learning solutions that align with organizational goals. This role emphasizes a learner-centered approach to create engaging and effective training experiences in risk management and compliance, impacting employees across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the instructional design process using the ADDIE model, focusing on Analysis, Design, and Development phases.
  • Conduct analysis to identify key behaviors and mindsets for enhancing risk management capabilities.
  • Gather learner inputs and prototype findings to influence project partners.
  • Develop a design strategy addressing the who, why, what, when, where, and how of learning experiences.
  • Gain agreement on design strategies and define deliverables for learning experiences.
  • Design and develop effective learning experiences that meet organizational needs.
  • Lead project teams through the design process, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Create project plans and manage project work, including feedback and review cycles.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with partners and colleagues.
  • Write compelling training materials that simplify complex information.
  • Create visuals and multimedia interactions to enhance learning experiences.
  • Ensure learning solutions adhere to accessibility guidelines.
  • Build assessments using best instructional practices.
  • Articulate design needs, project risks, and recommendations during scope changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 6-10 years in creating blended learning experiences.
  • Mastery in graphic design, video, audio, and graphic creation.
  • Established understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Mastery of Learning Theory.
  • Ability to write training content in plain, digestible language.
  • Strong writing editorial skills.
  • Ability to learn changing technologies quickly, including Content Management Systems, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Suite.
