About the position

The Senior Manager of Small Business Lending Operations Special Assets at Capital One is responsible for leading a team focused on managing criticized loans and developing effective restructuring and loss mitigation strategies. This role emphasizes collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The manager will cultivate a high-performance culture, drive strategic initiatives, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a team of Special Assets Officers and Administrators.
• Create restructuring/loss mitigation strategies for criticized loans.
• Apply credit officer, asset management, and risk management disciplines.
• Conduct financial analysis and loan structuring, including commercial property valuation and SBA Loans.
• Manage legal documentation, loan covenants, and strategies for default scenarios.
• Ensure best practices in Special Assets are leveraged and policies are evolved.
• Influence senior business and risk management leaders in strategy creation and implementation.
• Set operational strategy for the team and ensure service levels are met.
• Build relationships with key business partners to improve processes and customer experiences.
• Drive a customer-centric culture and champion change within the organization.
• Mentor and develop associates, setting team goals aligned with organizational objectives.
• Advocate for customer needs in organizational decision-making processes.
• Perform regular analysis to identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 6 years of experience in Special Assets working with criticized Loans
• At least 3 years of People Management experience

Nice-to-haves

• 8+ years of experience in Special Assets working with criticized Loans
• 5+ years of People Management experience
