About the position

The Senior Manager, Social Media is a pivotal role within the Digital Marketing Department at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. This position focuses on the daily support of content development and digital campaigns across various social media channels, including the Academy, Oscars, and Academy Gold. The Senior Manager will lead the ideation, creation, and execution of social media assets, ensuring consistent brand voice and audience engagement while collaborating with multiple teams to maintain an effective content calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director with the ideation, creation, execution, and scheduling of social assets across all Academy and Gold social channels.
  • Produce and edit video and static assets, crafting accompanying social copy.
  • Engage with audiences across social channels to foster a strong online community.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing and Academy Gold teams to enhance Academy Gold's social presence.
  • Maintain the social pillar's content plans in the global content calendar, updating it daily.
  • Create agendas for weekly social meetings to cover relevant topics and communicate strategic plans.
  • Conduct weekly social reports recapping content strategy, performance, and talent engagement.
  • Track social media analytics, sentiment, and metrics for various campaigns, including the Oscars.
  • Provide live event and digital support at the Oscars and lead-up events onsite.
  • Collaborate with the content strategy team and vendors to build paid media campaigns across social platforms.
  • Interface with Digital Marketing team pillars and various internal departments regarding Oscar-related initiatives.
  • Stay updated with digital marketing developments and industry trends.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of social media or digital marketing experience.
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency in design software like Photoshop, InDesign, and video editing tools such as Premiere.
  • Competency in online analytics tools, specifically Sprout, Google Analytics, Meta Insights, TikTok, and Twitter Analytics.
  • Experience with paid media social campaigns.
  • Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience creating reports and manipulating data in Google Workspace.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who thrives in both collaborative and independent work environments.
