About the position

The Senior Manager, Software Development, Engineering and Services - Salesforce Tech Manager is a pivotal leadership role within the organization, responsible for guiding and overseeing the Software Development team. This position requires a strong focus on achieving departmental objectives through effective communication and consensus-building among team members, supervisors, and managers. The Senior Manager will play a crucial role in negotiating terms and conditions for IT contracts, collaborating closely with Legal, Procurement, and other departments to ensure compliance and alignment with company and customer objectives. In this role, the Senior Manager will review and negotiate contractual terms with vendors, assisting the Procurement Department in the negotiation of technology agreements. This includes software subscription and license agreements, hardware acquisition contracts, maintenance and support agreements, and service and consulting contracts. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive database of contracts, ensuring that key terms and conditions are accurately documented for the proper administration of IT agreements. The position requires the ability to respond to inquiries regarding contract obligations, advise project leaders on contractual issues, and work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams to resolve any contractual disputes. The Senior Manager will monitor active contracts, ensuring that all contractual commitments are understood and met, and will communicate organizational contract requirements to vendors. This role is essential for ensuring that contracts, insurance issues, and supporting documentation are accurate and completed in a timely manner, thereby supporting the overall objectives of the IT department and the health system.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to Software Development team members, supervisors, and managers by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
  • Communicates and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
  • Reviews and negotiates contractual terms and conditions with vendors and assists Procurement Department in negotiations of technology agreements.
  • Advises all levels of staff and management regarding contract terms and conditions, applicable policies and procedures, and best practices to advance IT department business objectives.
  • Maintains database of contracts including key terms and conditions necessary for the proper administration of IT agreements.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding contract obligations; advises project leaders regarding contractual issues; works with vendors and organization teams to understand and resolve contractual issues.
  • Collaborates with stakeholder departments throughout negotiation to facilitate contract implementation.
  • Monitors active contracts and assists IT staff with ensuring contractual commitments are understood and met.
  • Communicates organization contract requirements to vendors.
  • Ensures contracts, insurance issues, and supporting documentation are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience and 5-7 years of leadership/management experience required.
  • 7+ years experience with the Salesforce platform highly preferred.
  • 5+ years managing software teams highly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Mulesoft, and Data Cloud preferred.
  • Preferred Salesforce Architect Certificates: System Architect, Application Architect, Sharing and Visibility Architect, Integration Architect, Identity and Access Architect, Development and Lifecycle Architect, Data Architect, Technical Architect.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Mulesoft, and Data Cloud preferred.
