About the position

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering/Application Development (Salesforce Cloud) is responsible for leading an engineering team to ensure the successful management of the Salesforce platform. This role involves overseeing the analysis, architecture, design, implementation, and support of Salesforce applications, while also mentoring team members and driving best practices in application development. The position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work location.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of the engineering team.
  • Manage application development teams, including both employees and contractors.
  • Mentor and coach engineers to develop their technical leadership skills.
  • Lead a highly experienced and self-managed team in an agile environment.
  • Provide thought and solution leadership for Salesforce Application Development.
  • Ensure appropriately skilled staff are available for project execution.
  • Assemble application delivery teams for project and program efforts.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical feedback.
  • Identify and manage dependencies on other systems within the engineering landscape.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to set technical strategy and build roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or Business with an emphasis in Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
  • 12 years of experience in programming, engineering, or technical roles within a software development environment.
  • 6 years of experience in a leadership role within Information Technology.
  • Deep knowledge of multiple Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Health, Non-Profit, etc.).
  • Experience with Salesforce development and integration patterns, data migration practices, and governor limits.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leading agile software development teams.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices in software development.
