About the position

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Front End) at Capital One is responsible for leading a team of developers in creating innovative front-end applications using modern technologies. This role involves overseeing the technical design and development of multi-platform application systems, collaborating with product managers, and driving transformation within the organization. The position emphasizes a culture of experimentation, mentorship, and staying updated with technology trends to deliver impactful solutions for customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Perform software development on Front End Applications leveraging a test-driven development pattern.
• Own the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
• Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and mentor other members of the engineering community.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not count)
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 4 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree
• 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, React, Angular, Node, TypeScript, or Java
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
• 7+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
