As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Capital One, you will lead a team of developers in the Rewards and Loyalty Platform, focusing on creating innovative solutions that enhance customer reward experiences. This role involves overseeing a portfolio of technology projects, mentoring team members, and collaborating with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that empower millions of customers. You will be at the forefront of technology transformation, utilizing modern tech stacks and cloud services to meet enterprise needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Stay updated on tech trends and experiment with new technologies.
• Mentor other members of the engineering community.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
• Utilize programming languages and tools such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 4 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree
• 9+ years of experience in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
• 7+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
