About the position

The Senior Manager, Software - Infrastructure at GoDaddy is a leadership role focused on overseeing the development of the next-generation WordPress hosting platform. Responsibilities

  • Lead a motivated engineering team in the development of the next-generation WordPress hosting platform.
  • Experiment with different approaches and technologies to enhance product offerings.
  • Deliver feature epics to production in sync with the team's rhythm, tracking and improving team velocity.
  • Translate complex business objectives into simple, scalable solutions.
  • Embrace a One System mindset and drive platform unification.
  • Utilize data and analytics to enhance products and customer experience.
  • Ensure accountability for code quality, scalability, and testability.
  • Influence decisions and outcomes during interactions with leaders, executives, and customers.
  • Engage in Tech Talks, open-source contributions, hackathons, and other activities to recognize and celebrate accomplishments.
  • Exemplify inclusive leadership behaviors and manage diverse talent.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience managing a development team.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Expertise in designing highly scalable software solutions.
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as PHP, Python, Golang, TypeScript, Rust, or Lua.
  • Proficiency with AWS and OpenStack technologies.
  • Experience with automating various processes, from build tools to monitoring.
  • Deep knowledge of agile development methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hosting industry experience, particularly with WordPress.
  • Experience integrating software with Ceph, Cilium, Nomad, SELinux, NGINX Unit, and Traefik.
  • Knowledge of software security best practices.
