The Senior Manager of Software Engineering (Infrastructure) will play a crucial role within the Infrastructure Operations team at Intuit Mailchimp. This position involves leading a team responsible for the operation and maintenance of the company's network, systems, and internal services, both in colocation and cloud environments. The successful candidate will work closely with other leaders in the infrastructure organization to build and support a high-performing team that enables QuickBooks and Mailchimp customers to leverage the full potential of Intuit's integrated products. As a Senior Manager, you will be tasked with mentoring and developing individual contributors while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building effective operational teams focused on delivering excellence to customers. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this role requires working across various departments to ensure operational success. Intuit Mailchimp operates in a hybrid work environment, allowing employees to collaborate in person at the Atlanta office two or more days per week. This flexibility supports a dynamic work culture that values both in-person collaboration and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Play a vital role in the infrastructure organization, as part of a team of leadership, responsible for the regular care and maintenance of Mailchimp's technology infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the operational needs of all Mailchimp's infrastructure, breaking down silos, fostering collaboration cross-functionally, and ensuring an end-to-end approach in both strategy and operational rigor.
  • Coach a team of infrastructure engineers to help define their career path through challenging growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and alignment with partners across the business (e.g., Product Development, Program Management, and Product Management).
  • Collaborate with Product Development teams to meet their needs while bringing customer-driven software products to market that simplify and solve for current customer needs while building for the future.
  • Technically deep-dive to problem solve with the infrastructure operations team.
  • Lead operational excellence to deliver highly available, scalable infrastructure solutions with utmost attention to quality, security, and performance metrics.
  • Embrace new ideas that produce outstanding results for our customers and bring out the best ideas from the best engineers by empowering them and leading by example.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as an established technical leader of infrastructure operations, network operations, or systems operation teams for a mid to large business or corporation.
  • Passion for being at the leading edge of technology with 5+ years of hands-on technical experience on an infrastructure team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in an infrastructure engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing an inclusive team of high-performing engineers in multiple office locations.
  • Experience in building and operating large scale web applications with millions of data points.
  • Understanding of both ITIL and Agile principles.
