About the position

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Capital One, you will play a pivotal role in leading a diverse portfolio of technology projects while managing a team of skilled developers. Your primary focus will be on creating innovative solutions that address regulatory needs through the development of distributed microservices and full-stack systems. You will utilize a variety of programming languages, including Java, Python, Go, and Scala, as well as work with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases. Additionally, you will leverage container orchestration services such as Docker and Kubernetes, along with various AWS tools and services, to drive the development of high-quality software solutions. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • At least 4 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, or Go
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
  • 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
  • 7+ years of people management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
