With billions of ad requests served monthly through high-performance ad servers, the team is dedicated to building intelligent data systems that ingest, model, analyze, and optimize the vast amounts of data generated from online and in-store user activities and transactions. Utilizing cutting-edge machine learning, data mining, and optimization algorithms, the team is focused on delivering exceptional experiences for both customers and advertisers. The role is part of the Display Ads Server engineering team for Backend Services, tasked with developing the next generation of omni-advertising platforms that deliver performance and value at scale. A successful candidate will take ownership of major components of the display advertising solution, ensuring alignment with other teams and guiding architectural and technological decisions both within the team and across Walmart Media Company (WMC). This is a hands-on position, and we are seeking an exceptional and experienced coder who can lead by example. Key responsibilities include designing and developing highly scalable services, solving complex software system problems using state-of-the-art technology, and providing technical direction and architecture leadership to the team. The role involves participating in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and ensuring on-time delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, particularly in machine learning and AI, and will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to implement innovative solutions into the Display Ad Serving platform.
