About the position

The Senior Manager role is pivotal in shaping Walmart's omni-channel replenishment platform, focusing on creating a flexible, scalable, and fault-tolerant system. This position involves defining business goals, executing strategies, and ensuring optimal product availability for customers both online and in stores. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven decision-making to enhance customer experience and drive innovation within the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and guide a high-performing engineering team.
  • Engage and guide the team technically, including design and architecture involvement.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and uphold quality standards.
  • Support delivery for all features of the global data engineering and platform.
  • Oversee system health and performance through analytics and key metrics.
  • Implement operational excellence in workflows and processes.
  • Develop strategies to attract and maintain a skilled workforce.
  • Mentor and develop associates, focusing on diversity and inclusion.
  • Engage with leadership to set strategy and priorities for the platform.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree (B.E/B.Tech/MS) in Computer Science preferred.
  • 12-15 years of relevant experience in building resilient, scalable systems.
  • 3+ years of leadership/management experience with a team of 10+ engineers.
  • Strong understanding of Java and Microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, SpringBoot, Cloud (Azure/GCP/AWS), Kafka, and caching technologies.
  • Experience with relational DBMS (MySQL, Oracle, etc.).
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies and CI/CD tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins).
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of at least one cloud-based project.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
