About the position

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering - ServiceNow, provides strategic leadership and oversight to the Software Engineering team, focusing on secure software engineering principles for the ServiceNow platform. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional leaders to align business requirements with technology direction, ensuring optimal software and system design through effective resource management and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the efforts of the software engineering staff.
  • Ensure the application of agile principles to software development, focusing on delivering business value, fostering collaboration, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Create and review technical assessments, estimates, and high-level requirements for assigned projects.
  • Drive the execution of solution development through effective resource allocation and management.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes to reach consensus and implement the best solutions.
  • Define and monitor success metrics for the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years' experience in a related field, or a master's degree and 6 years' experience, or a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience, or 20 years' experience in a related field.
  • 10+ years of industry or relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with ITOM and ITSM modules.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience with ServiceNow's Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Proficiency in programming on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders and partners.
  • Experience in stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability to contribute to the development of delivery tools and resources and provide thought leadership based on personal experience.
  • Hands-on leadership and management skills to ensure deadlines are met and key deliverables are accurate.
  • Experience with agile methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Implementation Specialist in ITOM.
  • Certified in system administration and application development (CSA, CAD).
