About the position

The Senior Manager Software Engineering at Gap Inc. is responsible for serving as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Warehouse Management System and fulfillment processes. This role involves defining technical specifications, leading discussions with stakeholders, and ensuring the successful implementation of software solutions to address complex business problems. The position emphasizes a DevOps mindset, focusing on automation, continuous integration, and delivery, while collaborating with various project teams to resolve production and project issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as application SME for Warehouse Management system and fulfillment process.
  • Define options and alternatives for proposals to meet new IT enabling opportunities.
  • Develop and review software for large complexity business problems across multiple project teams.
  • Lead discussions with internal and external stakeholders to define technical specifications and development efforts.
  • Partner with engineers in empowered and self-organized development teams.
  • Ensure technical and architecture implementation against the agreed scope and quality of the end product delivered.
  • Practice automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery embracing a DevOps mindset.
  • Work with project teams, Operations, and Support teams to assure timely resolution to production and project issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Information Technology, Business Administration or related field.
  • Six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in Information Technology or related role.
  • Experience in Supply Chain and logistics, including implementing a Warehouse management solution for e-commerce operations.
  • Proficiency in System Design and Development.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of Test Automation tools such as Selenium and Jmeter.
  • Experience with alerting and monitoring systems like New Relic/Splunk.
  • Familiarity with technologies like Java, MySQL, IBM MQ, Material Handling systems, Warehouse Control systems, and order management systems.
  • Experience with DevOps and Agile Framework.
  • Knowledge of Manhattan Warehouse Management Open Systems.
