The Senior Manager, Software Engineering at Capital One is responsible for leading a diverse portfolio of technology projects and managing a team of developers. Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Stay updated on tech trends and experiment with new technologies.
• Mentor other members of the engineering community and occasionally evaluate code.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions.
• Drive improvements to reliability, stability, and observability of the platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not count)
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 4 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree
• 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, Go, or Node.js
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
• 7+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
