About the position

At Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Technology & Digital, we are dedicated to creating world-class immersive digital experiences for our premier vacation brands, including Disney's Parks & Resorts, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. Our team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience across various technology and digital-led initiatives, including Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise. We also oversee initiatives like MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney! In this role, you will join the Payment Platform Team, where collaboration, excitement, and a dynamic learning environment are at the forefront. As a Senior Manager, you will lead and develop high-performing teams of managers and software engineers, providing solutions to complex business problems and running high-priority initiatives. You will contribute to the roadmaps and overall technology strategy, making this an excellent opportunity for those interested in a cross-functional role with significant exposure to senior leaders within the company. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with Product, Marketing Business, and Strategy Teams while leading a large-scale software engineering organization. You will facilitate partnerships across teams and channels on shared platforms, coach and mentor your team, and guide the organization in improving customer engagement, platform strategy, and standardization within the Payment ecosystem. You will define frameworks and insights to support business goals through technology, participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, and lead by example by producing extensible and maintainable code. Additionally, you will manage the CAPEX/OPEX budget for the portfolio, develop processes to meet business needs, and build an inclusive environment to attract and retain strong talent.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor engineers and leaders responsible for the Payment Platform.
  • Define frameworks and insights to support business goals through technology.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards are followed.
  • Build and guide the overall CAPEX/OPEX budget for the portfolio.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs.
  • Lead and manage highly skilled professional leaders and individual contributors.
  • Build an inclusive environment to attract, retain, and grow strong talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of technology experience in highly reliable distributed systems and building platforms.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience with demonstrated ability to lead and empower development teams.
  • Experience managing large CAPEX/OPEX budgets, planning, and forecasting.
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Java and Angular.
  • Technical expertise in digital ecosystems including web, mobile, APIs, and NoSQL databases.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels.
  • Experience influencing business and technology leadership to drive positive outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of program management principles.
  • Experience in agile software development methodologies such as scrum and test-driven approach.
