About the position

The Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Gap Inc. is responsible for leading the development and implementation of software solutions for the Warehouse Management System and fulfillment processes. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to define technical specifications, ensuring the quality of the end product, and practicing automation and continuous integration within a DevOps framework. The position requires a strong background in supply chain logistics and software development, particularly in the context of e-commerce operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the application Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Warehouse Management System and fulfillment process.
  • Define options and alternatives for proposals to meet new IT enabling opportunities.
  • Develop and review software for complex business problems across multiple project teams.
  • Lead discussions with internal and external stakeholders to define technical specifications and development efforts.
  • Partner with engineers in self-organized development teams.
  • Ensure technical and architectural implementation aligns with the agreed scope and quality of the end product.
  • Practice automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery with a DevOps mindset.
  • Work with project teams, Operations, and Support teams to resolve production and project issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in Information Technology or a related role.
  • Experience in supply chain and logistics, specifically implementing a Warehouse Management solution for e-commerce operations.
  • Proficiency in system design and development, continuous integration and deployment, and Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium and JMeter.
  • Experience with alerting and monitoring systems like New Relic or Splunk.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as Java, MySQL, IBM MQ, Material Handling systems, Warehouse Control systems, and order management systems.
  • Experience with DevOps and Agile frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Manhattan Warehouse Management Open Systems.
